Breast implants or fat transfer: which is right for you?

There are two main ways to enhance breast size: breast implants and fat transfer breast augmentation, where fat is taken from another area of your body and injected into the breasts.

Patient preference plays a significant role in this choice. Implants tend to suit those wanting a noticeable increase in breast size with predictable, long-lasting volume, while fat transfer may appeal if you’d prefer a subtle, natural breast enhancement using your own tissue, typically an increase of around one cup size, with no implant involved. Fat transfer also requires enough donor fat to harvest, so it isn’t suitable for everyone, and some of the transferred fat is naturally reabsorbed by the body.

What happens during breast enlargement surgery?

After your breast surgery, you’ll stay in our clinic for one night. We also recommend staying in Poland for two more days (you can view the accommodation options we offer here) so you’re well rested before flying home.

In the first few weeks you should expect some swelling, bruising and discomfort — you’ll be prescribed suitable pain relief medication to manage this. Most patients return to light work within a week or two, and you can usually resume most normal activities within up to six weeks. As a general guide:

First 1–2 weeks: Rest, wear your supportive sports bra day and night, and avoid heavy lifting.
Weeks 2–6: Gradually return to normal activities, but continue to avoid strenuous exercise and anything that strains the chest muscle.
From 6 weeks: Most patients can return to exercise, following their surgeon’s advice.
3–6 months: Swelling settles fully and your breasts begin to look and feel more natural — this is when you’ll see your final result.

Types of Breast Implants

Silimed

Silimed breast implants are available in a wide range of designs to meet the different needs of women seeking breast augmentation, with a focus on reducing the risk of complications.

Polytech

Polytech implants feature a special micropolyurethane coating. Studies in Germany have suggested a significantly lower rate of capsular contracture with these coated implants compared with non-covered breast implants.

Motiva

Implant Profile

Implant Shape

We offer the two main breast implant shapes: round and teardrop (anatomical). Implant Sizing

Breast implant sizes are measured by volume in cubic centimetres (cc). For example, a 300cc breast implant contains 300 cubic centimetres of silicone gel, while a 500cc implant contains 500. Rather than thinking purely in cup sizes, your surgeon will help you choose a volume that suits your frame, your existing breast tissue and the breast size you want to achieve.

What’s the difference between silicone and saline breast implants?

Silicone breast implants are filled with cohesive silicone gel and are widely considered to look and feel more like natural breast tissue, which is why they’re the standard choice in the UK and Europe. Saline breast implants are filled with sterile salt water and are more common in the USA. “Gummy bear” breast implants are teardrop-shaped implants filled with a firmer, form-stable silicone gel that holds its shape.

He graduated in 1993 and began his career in cosmetic surgery on 1st June 1999.
