Who is she?

India Willoughby is Britain’s first transgender journalist on ITV. She was born as Jonathon Willoughby, in a body she didn’t feel she belonged in.

After receiving online abuse for years, she decided to do something for herself. She experienced a lot of distressful comments after being on Celebrity Big Brother in January 2018.

That line-up was an all female line up to mark the 100 years of women’s suffrage.

She commented that she got lots of support from the Channel 5 team.

After she had her plastic surgery, she said she wouldn’t have any more because she was “happy with what she’s got”.

She was interviewing on This Morning by Phillip Schofield.

He gave her plenty of encouraging words, and said this:

‘It is very traumatic surgery and your face is still swollen, and it can be six to eight months before it goes down to what it will eventually be… and then hopefully after that you can get back to being the successful woman that you are.’
