How Does a Bum Lift Work?
In recent years it has become more and more popular to have surgery on your bottom to improve its appearance, shape and size.
There are various different surgeries designed to improve your bottom and our surgeon prefers the buttock lift procedure, which focuses on skin removal and uplifting of the buttocks.
The bum lift procedure is essentially an incision, ideal for patients with a sagging bottom, often caused by gaining weight and then losing it again.
What’s involved in a buttock lift?
The Brazilian butt lift is a popular surgical weight loss procedure where a surgeon takes fat from one part of your body, through liposuction, and injects it into your buttock. The surgery performed by plastic surgeons has become popular in recent years.
The traditional bum lift procedure which is performed by our surgeon is different to the Brazilian Bum lift. The cosmetic surgeon will make incisions across the upper buttock. Half-moon shaped segments of skin and fat from underneath the surface of the skin are removed from the buttock area, then the remaining skin and tissue are lifted to achieve a tighter and smoother effect.
A bum lift operation is designed to improve the appearance of loose or sagging skin around the buttocks, so it is often combined with liposuction in order to remove any excess fat for a complete reshaping of the bottom. Your own fat is moulded into shape and used to make the buttock look more full.
In the UK, this buttock lift procedure can cost £8,000. Europe Surgery can offer a bum lift from £3,750. Find out more about our cosmetic surgery prices.
Fat Transfer
Why would I get fat transfer instead of bum implants?
The main deciding factor between a fat grafting procedure or implants is how much fat you have to work with. Most patients wish to have liposuction as well as the bum lift anyway, as it gives the patient an hourglass silhouette.
We do not fit buttock implants, as the complication rates are too high; patients tend to get infections and end up in bed for months.
