Information & FAQs

Our Accommodation

We try and make having cosmetic surgery abroad easy for you. The first night you stay in the clinic. The next day you will leave to stay in one of the hotels nearby.

Most patients stay in the brand new modern apartment. The bedrooms are twin rooms and are £30 a night for the room. There is also a shared kitchen area with three other patients. Please bring your own laptop as there is free internet. There is also a TV in each lockable bedroom. There is a large Tesco next to the clinic and the apartment is just over the road.

Our Apartment

The Puro Hotel

The Puro hotel (4*)

The Puro is one of the nearest hotels and has some English TV channels with a large flat screen TV at the end of the bed. Its the only hotel in Wroclaw with some English TV other than the News and sports channels you normally get abroad. The best prices for hotel this are on booking.com. It also has quite reasonably priced room service. Another option is the two-star hotel, the Hotel Solo Plus which is within walking distance from the clinic. These rooms have en-suite toilets and showers. There are also cheaper (but not so nice) rooms at the Solo but it is definitely worth paying more for the Solo Plus. Please make it clear that you want the Solo Plus on the booking form as these rooms have been updated. Prices are as follows: Overnight staying in the single room for 1 person 100 zlotys (£23.00), Overnight staying in the double room for 1 or 2 persons 120 zlotys (£27.00) and Extra Bed 40 zlotys (£16.00). Telephone or email [email protected]

There is a Tesco also near to the clinic for food, however there is no restaurant at this hotel as it is like a Travel Lodge. There are restaurants at the Magnolia Park, a large shopping centre next to the clinic.

If you would prefer to book your own hotel; any hotel in the city centre is fine. The website www.booking.com has all the city centre hotels reduced in price. The choice of hotel is totally up to you, everyone has their own budget. Please make sure you do book somewhere, as Wroclaw is a popular city and the hotels get full very quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Pay?

Most patients do pay in pounds sterling cash, or by bank transfer to the surgeon’s bank account. All money is paid directly to the surgeon, there is no deposit. Travel insurance for people travelling for medical reasons is available from ‘All Clear Travel’. Most people however, just make sure their European Health Insurance Card (the old E1 11) is up to date, which you can do online.

What Is The Procedure Before The Operation

Please do not take aspirin for two weeks before surgery. Do not drink alcohol, tea or coffee on the day of surgery – it is better just to drink water. It is recommended that you do not eat for six hours before surgery. If you are having only a local then you can have a very light meal for example a yogurt four hours before. Please take a snack with you so that when it’s safe to eat you can e.g. biscuits, healthy bar etc. Please seek independent medical advice before undergoing surgery. It is important that you inform the surgeon of any medical problems that you have that could cause problems before surgery. For example drugs you are on that may cause more bleeding, heart attacks or diabetics.

How Clean Is The Clinic

The Magnolia clinic is newly opened it was built in April 2009. It is modern, clean and hygienic. No MRSA has ever been present. The clinic has had to pass European standards.

Will My Operation Be Under Local Or General Anaesthetic

It depends on the procedure. Where possible procedures are carried out with you awake as it is safer for you. However the surgeon can give you a mild sedative to make you feel more relaxed during the procedure.

Can I Cancel My Operation?

Please send us an email if you have to cancel your operation. You can cancel your operation up to a week before for any reason. However patients who have booked with us and don’t inform us of their cancellation will be charged £285 pounds as we will have prepared and hygienically cleaned the operating theatre and late cancellation will have prevented someone else from having surgery.

What Is The Currency In Poland?

The Polish money is Zloty not Euro’s, there is a good exchange rate for us at the moment with the zloty. You pay the surgeon in British pounds (if you come from Scotland or Northern Ireland we have had problems with the banks in Poland accepting theses British notes – really sorry!)

What Is The Advantage Of Going To The Clinic?

You will receive professional, friendly, medical care with surgery carried out by a highly experienced, skilled and qualified surgeon. All the surgery is performed by Dr Adam Kalecinski, unlike other clinics where a junior doctor might do some of your surgery. The surgery is affordably priced and conducted in a modern, hygienic clinic. After treatment you can enjoy a short holiday in Poland, away from prying eyes, so you can recover before your return home.

Can I Speak Directly To The Surgeon Prior To The Operation?

Yes, a telephone consultation can be arranged to speak to Dr Kalecinski in person. Please take his mobile number with you and if you have any problems at all in Poland don’t hesitate to call him.
